League setup
The Ultimate Baseball League is a league that is made for the entertainment of the GM’s who choose to participate in the league. This league will be a standard league starting in 2016 with the real life teams, players, and future expansions. We are starting with the updated roster from OOTP 17. The injuries have been reset but the suspensions have not been reset.
League Basics
The league will be starting in 2016 with the modern rosters. The league will have a Slack channel for all the GM’s to discuss trades along with a spot in the forums for trade blocks.
Commissioner:
The Commissioner of the league is Wayne and can be reached at waynet2010@icloud.com. I will be keeping track of the simming, and the overall good of the league. I will try to have 1-2 people who can help me with simming in case of vacations or anything of that nature.
GM Duties
The GM’s are expected to export at least once a week. If I don’t hear from you in 2 real life weeks I will send you an AIM/E-mail to see if you are still interested. If I don’t hear from you within 3 days I will replace you as GM. You are also expected to try to participate by posting trade blocks, communicate with other GM’s about trade offers. If teams have a hard time getting a hold of you about trades we will discuss replacing you. I am not saying you have to trade but you need to at least let them know that a player is not available. Finally GM’s are expected to respect the other GM’s in the league and the commissioner if I have problems with someone who can’t follow these you will be replaced.

Trading Information
Trading is encouraged in the league but there is a format that needs to be used. I will give you 1 excuse me on a trade not being posted right and if it happens again I just won’t process the trade. Trade format is as follows:
Yankees Trade:
SP-Roger Clemens-A
1B-Derek Lee-AAA
Red Sox Trade:
SP-Curt Schilling-ML
1B-Mo Vaughn-ML
And if there is an injury for one of the players both teams need to acknowledge the injury in the trade or it won’t be processed.
Draft picks and recently drafted players cannot be traded. If you draft someone in July of 2016 and sign him you can’t trade him until regular season date of April 2017 and it can’t be a player to be named later either. Trade just has to wait.
Trading Deadline is July 31st of that year.
If player is signed as a Free Agent they can’t be traded till June 1st of following season. So if you sign Player A on December 1st of 2016 you can’t trade him till July 1st of 2017.
Sim Schedule
Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Tuesday and Thursday the sims should run about 7AM CST and on Saturday and Sunday they should run around 12PM CST. This sim schedule is for the entire regular season. I will attempt to do live sims as many times as possible but no guarantees on the amount of time and I will try to live sim every playoff round if possible.
We sim 7 days per sim during the regular season.
We will stop on dates such as July 1st for International Amateur Rookies, September 1st for 40 man roster expansion, July 31st for trade deadline and the day before the regular season officially opens so players don’t start accruing time to quickly.
Post season we will sim nightly or a couple times a night depending on how quickly the playoff teams export.
During the post season we sim the first 3 games the first sim than the remaining 4 games after that.
During the offseason we will sim daily at 7 days per sim.
Playoff Setup
3 Division winners per league and 2 Wild Cards per league. Wild Card will be a 3 game Wild Card series.
World Series Home Field will be determined by team with the best record not the All-star Game.
Contracts and Extensions:
Contract must not increase more than 20% increase per season. So if you sign a player to a 2 year deal his first year is $10 million the 2nd year cannot be more than $12 million. If you sign him to a 5 year deal each year cannot be increased more than 20% per season. So in that case if it was a 5 year deal it could go up 20% between each year and can only go down 20% each year so if you start at a really high amount the 2nd year can only go down 20%.
Good Deal:
5 years
20 1st year, 24 2nd year, 20 million 3rd year, 16 million 4th year and 20 million 5th year
Bad Deal:
20 million 1st year, 5 million 2nd year, 1 million 3rd year, 5 million 4th year, 20 million 5th year.
No more than 1 team option and it has to be at the end of the deal.
Team options have to include a 50% buyout option for the team. So if you have a $20 million on the team option year the buyout has to be $10 million.
Player options can be whenever but cannot have a team option before that and player opt outs are also ok.
No Free Agent offer can be over 7 years.
You cannot sign anyone to a contract extension until they reach 3 years of ML service time. They have to be at least 3 years of ML service time.
10% of the highest contract year is the most your incentives and bonuses can be offered.
If any of these rules are found violated the first time or if in free agency if you had a few people sign that is still 1 warning I will just fix it to where it should be. Now if it causes the salary to go down I will not lower the salary I will raise the previous years’ salary to match what it should be.
So if you sign someone to a deal with the first year 1 million and the 2nd year as 10 million I will increase the first year.
If you get caught again I will start by deducting $1 million from your budget starting in 2017 and it will increase as seasons and finances go up the fine will go up. If you get fined more than 3 times you will lose your first round pick.
